Australian Internships (AI), established in 1998, is a specialist organisation dedicated to arranging internships for young professionals in almost all academic fields. AI is well recognised as the market leader in career development programs for international candidates and its programs are designed to meet the growing demand for internationalisation. The internship programs are both paid and unpaid – depending on the field, academic profile and professional experience – and are available Australia wide.

The aim of the internship program is to provide a period of supervised, practical work experience related to the candidates’ major field of study. In some cases the student will earn academic credit while in other cases the intern may be a recent graduate looking for the practical experience to increase their profile or standing as they launch their career. The AI Program has been approved by the Department of Immigration and Border Protection for the Special Program 416 Special Program Visa and 402 Research and Training Visa.The Internship Program is unique as its principal focus is in identifying and securing the best possible professional internship placement for the applicant. We are able to place students from diverse educational backgrounds into successful internships aligned to their skills and experience.The company focus is to form partnerships with market leaders in education, travel and service industries for the purpose of export growth, increased economic return and increased market share in the niche area of internships for international students and visitors.

Services

Our program includes:
• Resume guidance
• Interview preparation and guidance
• An individualised placement with an Australian company
• Allocation of an Internship Program Supervisor (IPS) to closely monitor progress and satisfaction level
• Immediate intervention by Australian Internships should you experience any difficulties
• 24-hour Emergency Support
• Full Orientation Sessions, including an introduction to Australian workplace culture
• Intern nights, providing an opportunity for interaction between interns from over 80 countries
• Access to online career blogs and advice

• Mobile Phone Sim Card
• Bank Account Setup
• International Student Identity Card
• Tax Claim Service

Programs

Professional Internship Program
• Non-paid training positions
• Full-time (approximately 40 hours per week)
• 6 – 26 weeks in duration (it may vary depending on the field)
• Positions available Australia wide
• Academic credit may be obtained if required
• Lead time: up to 3 – 4 months
• Approved by the Department of Immigration and Border Protection for the Special Programs Visa (416)

Our internship placements are sourced and negotiated on an individual basis to ensure that every placement is perfectly matched to a candidate’s education, experience and internship objectives.

Hospitality Internship Program
• Australian Award Wage paid training positions – Average of AUD$16 per hour
• Positions available in luxury hotels and resorts all over Australia
• 6 months, 9 months or 12 month positions (full time)
• Flexibility with location is required
• Academic credit may be obtained if required
• Fields: Front Office, Food and Beverage, and Food Production (Culinary)
• Lead time: up to 6 months
• Approved by the Department of Immigration and Border Protection for the Training and Research Visa (402)
